From TRENZ to the South Island – Experiencing New Zealand Firsthand

One of the highlights of attending TRENZ each year is the opportunity to build relationships with travel professionals from around the world. After meeting many of these wonderful trade partners at TRENZ in May, we’re delighted to now be hosting a group from India, Malaysia, Singapore, Canada and the United Kingdom as they experience New Zealand firsthand.

The group arrived in Auckland on Monday, where they were personally welcomed by Lesley before beginning their South Island adventure.

Over the course of the week, Henry and Isabelle are showcasing one of Travel With Lesley Whyte’s most popular 7-night Mid South Island itineraries. From dramatic alpine scenery and glacier country to authentic local experiences and warm Kiwi hospitality, the tour has been designed to provide our guests with a genuine insight into the experiences we create for international visitors.

There’s no better way to understand a destination than to walk the streets, meet the people, experience the landscapes and immerse yourself in the journey. We are proud to be sharing some of the very best of New Zealand with our valued trade partners and look forward to helping them introduce even more international visitors to our beautiful country in the years ahead.

Welcome Ruth – Leading New Adventures Around the World

At Travel With Lesley Whyte, we’re passionate about creating unforgettable small-group journeys led by people who genuinely love adventure, the outdoors and sharing incredible experiences with others.

That’s why I’m delighted to officially welcome Ruth as one of our tour leaders.

Many of you will meet Ruth over the coming years as she leads a number of exciting adventures, bringing her calm, capable and welcoming style to destinations that inspire exploration, connection and discovery.

Ruth is one of those people who is always curious about what’s around the next corner. Whether it’s discovering a hidden walking trail, cycling along a spectacular coastline, paddling through pristine waters or exploring a new country, she embraces every experience with enthusiasm and a wonderful sense of adventure.

With extensive experience in tramping, cycling, kayaking and leading groups, Ruth creates an environment where guests feel supported, encouraged and free to enjoy their own adventure at their own pace. She also has a keen eye for photography and loves capturing those spontaneous moments that make travel so memorable.

Originally trained as a pharmacist, Ruth holds both a Bachelor of Pharmacy and an MBA. Alongside her passion for travel, she continues to work with selected clients in leadership development, facilitation and team coaching. She has also volunteered with Experiencing Marine Reserves Auckland and holds an Outdoor First Aid Certificate.

❄️ Coming Soon – Two Brand-New Arctic Circle Expeditions for 2028

We’re also excited to reveal that Ruth will be leading two brand-new Arctic Circle adventures, currently in development. One expedition has been specially designed for photographers wanting to capture the breathtaking beauty of the High Arctic, while the second will focus on active adventure, wildlife and immersive experiences in one of the world’s most spectacular regions.

Further details on both Arctic Circle journeys will be released in the coming months.
