LIANNE COOK: Resin Art on Wood – Bring Your Waves to Life
Lianne has been passionate about art since childhood, winning her first award at the age of 10. Known for her love of experimenting with colour, texture, and diverse techniques, Lianne brings a vibrant and dynamic approach to her work. She studied Fine Arts at Griffith University in Queensland and has been teaching art for over 15 years.
Originally from Queensland, Lianne now calls the Yorke Peninsula home. She draws deep inspiration from the region’s stark, breathtaking landscapes and its thriving community of talented artists. Through her teaching and personal art practice, Lianne continues to share her creativity and passion for art with others.
JASON SWALES – Seascapes in Pastels
Jason is a renowned surf artist and the owner/curator of Studio Surf Gallery in Marion Bay. As a lifelong surfer, artist, and world traveler, Jason has channeled his passions into creating a distinctive collection of world-class surf art that captures the energy and beauty of the ocean.
With an intimate understanding of the movement of water, Jason’s work is a celebration of the waves he has experienced across the globe. In this unique opportunity, he shares his expert techniques and insights into capturing the essence of a moment in time through pastel, offering participants a rare glimpse into the art of surf-inspired creativity.
RACHELLE PLAZERIANO – Pen & Ink Landscapes with Handcrafted Brushes
Rachelle is a multi-disciplinary artist best known on the Yorke Peninsula for her watercolour art and workshops. Her colourful style reflects her love for the environment around her and draws on many family holidays sketching Australian landscapes. Raw scientific observation is combined artistic flair to tell a story or take her audience on a journey.
Exhibiting in Central Australia and on the Yorke Peninsula has won this artist multiple awards. This high-end representation combined with a local market presence has meant her work can be found scattered through private collections internationally. Completing a residency focusing on Mrs. Bakers Garden in Warooka’s Ballara Homestead has further equipped Rachelle’s arts practice in botanical watercolour art and linework.
Passionate about the therapeutic benefits of creating, Rachelle enjoys introducing others to the highly transportable world of watercolour painting, leaving workshop participants with the confidence to continue their own watercolour creative practice at home.
Kylie Borg – Slow-Stitch / Appliqué – A Textured Masterpiece
Fashion designer Kylie Borg loves all things fabric, beads and lace and will often create a wide variety of styles in a range of vastly different fabrics. With a home-base on Yorke Peninsula, Kylie travels this beautiful country with her family of creatives in their renovated bus.
In this workshop Kylie with guide you through the process of repurposing fabric scraps to create a wonderful appliqué / slow stitch design.
