E-Bikes & Outback Blooms: Mt Ive Adventure

Join Travel With Lesley Whyte and Green Jersey Explorer Tours for an unforgettable 9-night South Australian cycling adventure.

Get ready for an exhilarating small group e-bike adventure across the rugged and breathtaking landscapes of Mt Ive Station! 🚴‍♀️

Mt Ive Station is a vast and rugged outback property, covering approximately 900 square kilometers (225,000 acres) in the heart of South Australia’s Gawler Ranges. This working sheep station is rich in history and natural beauty, featuring a diverse landscape of rolling hills, striking volcanic rock formations, and expansive salt lakes. Its sheer size offers endless opportunities for exploration, making it a dream destination for adventurers, photographers, and nature lovers alike. This remote and historic sheep station offers the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable ride. With the power of e-bikes, you’ll effortlessly traverse rolling hills, striking volcanic rock formations, and scenic open plains, soaking in the raw beauty of the outback. Along the way, keep an eye out for native wildlife, including emus, kangaroos, and wedge-tailed eagles soaring overhead.

What makes this ride even more spectacular is that we’ll be there during wildflower season! 🌸🌿 As we cycle through the station’s diverse terrain, the landscape will be bursting with vibrant colour—delicate pink and white everlastings carpeting the ground, striking yellow cassias, and the deep purples and blues of native peas. The contrast of these stunning wildflowers against the dramatic red earth and rugged rock formations creates an unforgettable visual feast for photographers and nature lovers alike. Our journey will also take us to the incredible Organ Pipes, a striking natural rock formation of ancient basalt columns shaped by volcanic activity. We’ll also have the chance to experience the salt lakes, which create mesmerising reflections and add another dimension to the outback’s raw beauty. Whether you’re capturing the scenery with your camera or simply taking it all in as you ride, this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience Mt Ive Station at its most breathtaking. 🚵‍♂️✨

A Flexible and Varied Cycling Experience

One of the great things about Mt Ive is that this is not simply a point-to-point cycling tour. Each day offers a different experience, creating a varied and memorable adventure.

Some days we may head out for a shorter morning ride, return to the station for lunch and some relaxation time, then venture out again in the afternoon to explore another part of this incredible outback landscape.

Along the way you’ll discover beautiful picnic locations, scenic lookouts and fascinating points of interest, with plenty of opportunities to stop, take photographs and simply absorb the beauty, tranquillity and immense scale of the Australian outback.

Should we experience a wet weather day where cycling is not suitable, we won’t be sitting still. Instead, we’ll enjoy a scenic coach excursion into the spectacular Gawler Ranges, allowing you to experience another incredible side of this remarkable region.

This is an adventure designed to be enjoyed at a relaxed pace, allowing you to connect with both the landscape and the unique character of Mt Ive Station.
