Tuesday 30 May 2028 – Welcome to Rome

Welcome to Italy and the beginning of something very special. Arrive in Rome today, where you’ll be met and transferred to our centrally located 4 to 4.5 star hotel for the next two nights.

Today has deliberately been kept relaxed to accommodate different international arrival times. Settle into your room, recover from the journey and perhaps head out for your first wander through the streets of Rome.

This evening, we come together for our Travel With Lesley Whyte welcome dinner, a chance to meet your fellow travellers, raise a glass to the adventure ahead and begin our Italian experience in true Travel With Lesley Whyte style.

Wednesday 31 May 2028 – Rome, The Eternal City

After breakfast, today is ours to discover Rome. Ancient history, grand piazzas, fountains, cafés and extraordinary architecture seem to appear around every corner.

Our day will include a guided introduction to some of Rome’s great sights, balanced with time to simply enjoy the city. Whether it’s throwing a coin into the Trevi Fountain, discovering a neighbourhood trattoria, enjoying an espresso overlooking a piazza or indulging in a little Italian shopping, today is about experiencing Rome rather than rushing through it.

Tonight, we enjoy dinner together and look forward to boarding Wind Star tomorrow.

Thursday 1 June 2028 – Civitavecchia | Welcome Aboard Wind Star

After breakfast, we check out of our Rome hotel and transfer to Civitavecchia, where Wind Star awaits.

Step aboard, settle into your cabin and take some time to explore this intimate four-masted sailing yacht before we begin our seven-night Mediterranean adventure.

With a completely different atmosphere from a large cruise ship, Wind Star offers an intimate and relaxed way to explore the Mediterranean. Find your favourite spot on deck, unpack, settle in and enjoy our first evening onboard as the Italian coastline disappears behind us.

Friday 2 June 2028 – Bastia, Corsica

This morning we arrive in Bastia on the beautiful French island of Corsica.

Bastia is wonderfully atmospheric, with colourful buildings tumbling towards the waterfront, narrow lanes, historic churches, lively squares and a distinctly Corsican character. The old port is the perfect place to wander, while the historic Terra Vecchia quarter invites you to simply explore at your own pace.

Head further into the city to discover local markets and cafés, explore the citadel or find a waterfront table and enjoy the relaxed Mediterranean lifestyle before returning to Wind Star this afternoon.

Saturday 3 June 2028 – Villefranche-sur-Mer & Monaco Grand Prix Qualifying

Today the excitement goes up several gears.

We arrive in beautiful Villefranche-sur-Mer on the French Riviera, our gateway to Monte Carlo and the beginning of an extraordinary Monaco Grand Prix weekend. Today we make our way to Monaco for Saturday’s qualifying, with reserved Grandstand K seating putting us right amongst the atmosphere, noise and excitement.

Grandstand K is located within Monaco’s iconic Port Hercule area and extends from the famous Tabac corner towards the Piscine chicane section of the circuit. From here, you can quite literally feel the speed of the Formula One cars as they race through the streets of Monte Carlo.

There is something extraordinary about experiencing Monaco during Grand Prix weekend. The harbour is filled with superyachts, balconies overflow with spectators and the entire principality comes alive for one of the most famous weekends in international motorsport.

After an exhilarating day, we return to Wind Star. This evening the yacht relocates to Nice, where we remain overnight.

Sunday 4 June 2028 – Monaco Grand Prix Race Day

RACE DAY!

Today is the moment we came for. We return to Monte Carlo and our reserved Grandstand K seats for one of the world’s most famous motor races, the Monaco Grand Prix.

Located within the Port Hercule area, Grandstand K spans from the Tabac corner towards the Piscine chicane section of the track, placing us right amongst the action. It’s an incredible location from which to watch the Formula One cars negotiate this legendary street circuit, with Monaco’s harbour and its superyachts providing an unmistakable backdrop.

Few sporting events have a setting quite like this. Formula One cars race through the narrow streets of Monte Carlo, past the harbour and around one of the most technically demanding circuits in motorsport, surrounded by historic buildings, packed grandstands, balconies and superyachts.

Today is about soaking up every moment, the sound, the speed, the atmosphere and the spectacle of experiencing the Monaco Grand Prix in person.

After the race, we return to Wind Star for our final evening on the Côte d’Azur before continuing our Mediterranean voyage.

Monday 5 June 2028 – Cannes, French Riviera

After the excitement of Monaco, today we slow the pace and enjoy another side of the French Riviera.

Welcome to Cannes, synonymous with cinema, glamour and the Mediterranean good life. Stroll along La Croisette, browse the boutiques, explore the historic Le Suquet quarter or simply find a waterfront café and watch the yachts come and go.

Away from the red carpets and designer stores, Cannes reveals a wonderfully charming old town filled with narrow streets, restaurants and views across the harbour. Enjoy the day at your own pace before returning to Wind Star as we continue towards Italy.

Tuesday 6 June 2028 – Portofino, Italian Riviera

Wake this morning to one of the Mediterranean’s most instantly recognisable destinations, Portofino.

Pastel-coloured buildings wrap around the tiny harbour, fishing boats sit alongside luxury yachts and cafés spill onto the waterfront. It’s elegant, intimate and wonderfully Italian.

Spend the day wandering the cobbled lanes, browsing boutiques, enjoying a leisurely lunch overlooking the harbour or walking higher above the village for spectacular views across the Ligurian coastline.

This is exactly the sort of destination where Wind Star comes into her own, bringing us close to the heart of one of Italy’s most beautiful coastal villages.

Wednesday 7 June 2028 – Portoferraio, Elba

Our final full day aboard takes us to Portoferraio on the island of Elba, perhaps best known as the place of Napoleon Bonaparte’s exile, but there is considerably more to discover here.

The historic harbour is surrounded by colourful buildings and impressive fortifications, while beyond the town you’ll find beautiful coastline, beaches, vineyards and wonderful Tuscan scenery.

Explore Portoferraio’s historic centre, discover its Napoleonic connections or simply enjoy our final Mediterranean port at a leisurely pace.

Tonight, we return to Wind Star for our final dinner onboard. It’s time to raise a glass to an extraordinary week encompassing Corsica, the French Riviera, Monaco, Portofino and Elba.

Thursday 8 June 2028 – Civitavecchia & Return to Rome

This morning Wind Star returns to Civitavecchia, completing our seven-night Mediterranean voyage. But we’re not heading straight to the airport.

After breakfast and disembarkation, our private transfer takes us back to Rome for one final night in 4 to 4.5 star accommodation. After checking into our hotel, the remainder of the afternoon is yours. Perhaps revisit a favourite part of Rome, enjoy some last-minute shopping, settle into a pavement café or squeeze in one final Italian gelato.

Tonight, we come together for our Travel With Lesley Whyte farewell dinner with drinks. It’s our chance to celebrate everything we’ve experienced, from Rome and Corsica to the glamour of the French Riviera and the incredible atmosphere of Monaco Grand Prix weekend.

Friday 9 June 2028 – Arrivederci Roma

After breakfast, it’s time to say arrivederci to Italy. Transfers will take us to Rome Fiumicino Airport for our onward journeys home.

We leave with considerably more than photographs, taking home memories of Rome, Mediterranean sailing, Corsica, Cannes, Portofino, Elba and, of course, the unforgettable roar of Formula One cars racing through the streets of Monte Carlo.

Level of Fitness

Moderate Level of Fitness Required

This tour has been designed to be enjoyed at a comfortable pace, however a moderate level of fitness and mobility is required, particularly during our time in Rome and over the Monaco Grand Prix weekend.

Guests should be comfortable walking for extended periods, sometimes over cobblestones, uneven surfaces, inclines and steps. Rome, the Mediterranean ports and the towns of the French and Italian Rivieras are best explored on foot, and some areas may have limited vehicle access.

The Monaco Grand Prix weekend requires a higher level of mobility than a typical sightseeing day. Monaco is hilly and extremely busy during Grand Prix weekend, with road closures and restricted vehicle access meaning walking is an essential part of the experience. Guests should be capable of walking to and from Grandstand K, negotiating stairs and pedestrian routes, and being on their feet for periods throughout both Saturday and Sunday.

Wind Star is a small sailing yacht and guests should also be comfortable moving around the vessel, using stairs and gangways, and embarking and disembarking. Depending on the port and local conditions, some destinations may require tender transfers between the yacht and shore.

You do not need to be exceptionally fit, but you should be independently mobile, steady on your feet and able to comfortably manage approximately 2 to 3 kilometres of walking over the course of a day, including uneven surfaces and stairs. A reasonable level of stamina will ensure you can fully enjoy the experiences included in this itinerary.

Deposit & Payment Terms

Although subject to change, a deposit of US$5,000 per person is required at the time of booking to secure your place.

A further US$6,000 per person is due 270 days prior to departure

The final balance is currently due 180 days prior to departure. Please note that payment dates may be subject to change at Windstar’s discretion. All payments are in US dollars and must be received by the applicable due dates to confirm your participation.

All payments are non-refundable. However, should you need to cancel up to 6 weeks prior to departure, your balance, less the non-refundable US$5,000 per person deposit, will be refunded only if we are able to resell your place, at the sole discretion of Windstar.
