Our recent Chatham Islands Bird Tour was nothing short of spectacular! We explored remote wildlife hotspots, from the rugged coastlines of Pitt Island to the open waters surrounding South East Island, the Pyramid, and Mangere Islands. A true highlight was our full-day pelagic tour, where we witnessed an astonishing variety of seabirds, including albatrosses, petrels, and shearwaters, soaring effortlessly over the waves.
On land, we had the privilege of visiting the Taiko Sanctuary, where we saw not only the incredibly rare and endangered Taiko (Magenta Petrel) but also the Chatham Island Petrel—a heartwarming sight as we observed their fluffy chicks up close. These intimate encounters, combined with breathtaking landscapes and endless photography opportunities, made for an unforgettable experience for bird lovers and photographers alike! 📸🌊✨
