We’re also incredibly proud to welcome Helen Perry as our specialist guide leading our Shetland Islands birding tours.

For Helen, Shetland is far more than simply home — it’s part of who she is. She lives and breathes these islands. An experienced, enthusiastic and accredited Green Badge tourist guide, Helen is deeply passionate about sharing Shetland’s landscapes, stories, wildlife, and hidden places with visitors.

Walking is her favourite way to explore, and over the years she has covered almost the entire Shetland coastline — discovering remote beaches, dramatic sea cliffs, hidden paths, and quiet corners few visitors ever see. If there’s a cliff path or isolated shoreline in Shetland, chances are Helen has walked it.

Her greatest passion, however, is Shetland’s extraordinary wildlife. Helen spends countless hours photographing otters amongst the kelp beds and following orcas along the coastline with her camera in hand. Her wildlife photography has received recognition in publications and competitions, reflecting both her patience and deep connection to the natural environment.
